About Sherwood
Sherwood was founded in 1957 to serve children who were not included in public schools because of their cognitive disabilities. Schools and society have become more inclusive, yet there still exist unmet needs and barriers. The right education, training and support can enable people with disabilities to reach their potential and become contributing members of society.
Today, Sherwood continues to identify and offer services to meet the needs of children and adults with disabilities throughout Snohomish County. These services include early intervention for infants and toddlers, assistive technology for people of all ages, and employment supports for adults.
We strive to provide the services and support children and adults with disabilities need to be as independent as possible. Our role is to level the playing field so that people with developmental disabilities have the same opportunities as those who do not experience disability.
