Communication groups are geared toward teens and adults with communication challenges that affect behavior and participation in social and work settings. The six- week, small-group sessions provide an opportunity to practice communication and social skills to increase self-confidence, independence and community involvement. Clients are matched with other participants with similar needs. Peer mentors and communication partners are used as is appropriate. Cost depends on the number of participants. Scholarships are available. Open to clients with or without augmentative communication devices.
Assistive Technology and Resource Center Lending Library provides short term loans of assistive equipment (adapted toys and adapted books). We also have available iPads, laptops and other speech generating devices.
